Another aid project we are to carry out covers the support for the Single Mother House in Praga-Północ District, Warsaw. According to the demand of the facility, we have financed schoolbooks and scientific aids for school and kindergarten kids residing in the house and delivered paints and necessary painting accessories for restoration of two rooms addressed to mothers and children.
The Single Mother House, as a facility belonging to the Social Care Center of Praga-Północ District of municipal city of Warsaw, is a place of temporary stay for mothers and children, who suffer from a transitional deficiency of residence and means of support and regular living as a result of violence and pathological influence of the environment and the closest family. The Single Mother House operates in the area of counteracting against violence in family as well as psychological and pedagogical support for the family. The stay in the Single Mother House helps every mother and kid to manage their problems in terms of legal, family, financial and administrative issues. The period of staying is the facility is the time of psychological and pedagogical support as well as the moment for becoming independent. The House has got seven rooms, to be occupied by the women and children.
The new schoolyear is about to begin and there is roughly one month of holidays left. It’s time not only for rest, yet also for school shopping. Forty two kids from the Orphanage in Kowalewo (near Mława) have been granted school accessories for the year to come.
Thanks to our support five of the children from the County Orphanage in Szczutowo will go to the mountains, Ochotnica Dolna, for a sports-recreational camp, scheduled for July. The camp organizer is Life Long Association (Stowarzyszenie na Całe Życie).
The County Orphanage in Szczutowo is a facility providing a 24h care and assistance to children without or with partial parental care.
We are so glad that the kids will go on holidays!
Pursuant to the statute, our aid is also addressed directly to the large families who are in difficult material and living situation.
In June, we aided two of such families from the Pomorskie Province, providing them with long-term expiry date food and cleaning items. However, this is not our last word.
One of the families, consisting of as many as 10 persons, was also granted household items. In August, it will receive a table and a asset of chairs, and children will be assisted in arranging school starter kits, clothes and shoes, corrective eye wear. In addition, we will deliver the fuel supply for the wintertime.
The second family, actually composing of the mother and her four kids, has received, except for the food and cleaning accessories, new clothes and shoes for the summer. In August, we will help them to buy school starter kits and garment/ foot wear for the fall. In this case, we are also going to finance the fuel supply for the entire winter period.
We will endeavor to provide assistance on regular basis.
In December 2013 – prior to the date the Foundation was established – we had helped children from the Nursing Home in Elbląg.
This is a permanent residence center caring for children and youth with intellectual disabilities, run by the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Jadwiga. The facility provides a 24h care and fulfils fundamental living, welfare, supportive, educational, social and religious demands, in accordance with individual needs of particular residents.
We have managed to raise funds for the central heating, installed in the recovery room, where children practice, supervised by professional physical therapists.
The building itself requires a lot of rearrangements and repairs, yet we will keep assisting - this time as a FORMIKA for Children Foundation.
