On September 23 there was the first training addressed to a group consisting of almost 30 teenagers from two children’s care homes based in Warsaw, who are about to enter their mature life and become independent. A fabulous coach - Krzysztof Kotapski, undertook the workshop. The subject of the training was communications – how to build fine day-to-day relationships with other persons, particularly such that differ from us, the most important principles in building self-esteem, i.e. self-confidence as an ultimately important feature of a man, how to talk precisely about one’s needs, so that others would like to listen to and involve in our business, communications blockades – how to recognize them and how to avoid them, and what is an active listening about, i.e. how to build up empathy.
September 2017 - WE ARE GETTING BACK TO SCHOOL – CLASSES AND LUNCHES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS IN THE SCHOOLYEAR 2017/2018
As every year, after holiday time we kick off with continuation of extra classes and admit new children. As for now, 60 children attend English classes, paid by the Foundation.
W also finance such activities as: speech therapy, psychological and pedagogical therapy, dancing classes, tennis and soccer practice, piano lessons, art classes, recovery sessions
(the total of 21 children)
We continue with the project, meant to provide additional food to children in two primary schools in the Bieszczady Region – the villages of Ropienka and Wojtkowa – this year hot meals subsidized by us will reach to 104 children
In July we helped out children from the Church of the Holy Scapular of Warka and financed rental of a long-distance bus for a summer trip to Ustroń Morski. Unless we had provided our support, the event could have not occurred. It included lots of sightseeing, sunbathing, resting and relaxing. Over less than 2 weeks they covered the distance of nearly 1500 km.
This family care center, run by an awesome coupe, has been operating since 2009. Presently, it is a house for 9 children (7 under custody and 2 biological daughters). Our Foundation decided to assist in the center’s extension and modernization project and provide funds for repair works scheduled for July and August. In the summertime, we visited „ISKIERKI”. Children are great, they can’t wait to move into their new rooms and make use of the larger space. See the pictures of the progress in construction works (below).
In July we gave funds for an integration camp based in Mazury Lake District addressed to 30 children
from „Schowek” community center Ząbki, to cover their survival training. Over the course of these workshops, it could be clearly seen how children opened themselves up to tackle fears and difficulties. In addition, it could be observed how every success made them happy and how they became closer to each other throughout the team competition. Each overcoming of one’s own weaknesses fructified with rising of self-esteem and real satisfaction and belief that it was worth trying, even if something has been hard to reach. These were not only 4-day outdoor classes for fun, yet an opportunity to build up and strengthen children, who were not successful at school. Another attraction we subsidized was motor boat rides and yacht sailing. For young people from dysfunctional, poor families, facing up additions of their close persons, this was a chance to see a different world!
